An archaeological site in Sharjah, UAE
Wadi Al Helo is an archaeological landscape in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It is located in the Hajar Mountains, north of the modern settlement of Wadi Al Helo, within a mountain valley characterized by an ancient wadi terrace. The site is part of the wider Wadi Al Helo landscape, which extends beyond the principal excavated area designated "HLO1" and includes copper-bearing geological formations, archaeological features, rock art, agricultural areas and routes through the surrounding mountains. The wadi has abundant fresh water and vegetation, naturally occurring copper ore and mountain ridges that provided a distinctive environmental setting for prehistoric and later activity.
